The idea of a lead generation sales funnel is very popular today
You have a website. And the website might use some sort of linking process to drive sales. So far, so good.
But, are you focusing on the right steps? Simply creating the lead generation sales funnel might ignore the two most critical pieces of the puzzle, since you need both.
1. Is the product or service compelling?
Think about it. If you don’t have a product or service that can be properly marketed, what’s the purpose of the sales funnel? In other words, you need to first make sure that the product or service is in demand. Therefore, the best case scenario is this:
Someone wants your product or service
They don’t know about you yet
You have to convince them that you are the person to get them that product or service
2. Does the lead generation sales funnel come after having established trust?
Customers have to trust that you’re going to be able to deliver. Even better, what if they like your business story? They should be thinking, “Hey, I would like to support this business”. They want to support someone at the end of the sales process by giving them their money and, in turn, getting a product or service that’s in demand at a reasonable price. And, a higher level of trust should be evident throughout the whole process.
It’s not enough to just have a lead generation sales funnel. A sales funnel without a real product or service that is in demand is going to be worthless. Furthermore, the story needs to be communicated to the audience in a way that doesn’t try to force a sale. Instead, focus on creating a good customer experience. By ensuring trust and actually speaking to the needs of your audience, you’re making any customer feel welcome. Don’t simply go through the process in order to try and get a quick sale, because most customers can see through that.
